Sabrage
Went to see Sabrage at Lafayette in King’s Cross and honestly… it was one of the best nights I’ve had in a very, very long time.
From the second the show started, the entire place was electric. The crowd were absolutely eating it up and you could feel how much everyone was loving every second of it. It was classy, glamorous, chaotic, hilarious and ridiculously seductive all at the same time. Even with the mild nudity, it never felt tacky, it was just visually stunning and completely my vibe.
The amount of talent on that stage genuinely blew my mind. Every single performer, male and female, was effortlessly sexy, gorgeous and mesmerising to watch. I honestly kept sitting there thinking “I want to be part of this team” if only I could sing or dance because they all made it look so effortless.
We had sofa seats which were absolutely perfect because we could see everything without missing a single moment, and the little nibbles throughout the show were such a cute touch and added so much to the whole experience.
Emma completely stole my heart a little bit, I think I genuinely fell in love. She just had this confidence and presence about her that made it impossible to look away whenever she was on stage. And Christian’s skating dance routine? My jaw genuinely hit the floor at one point because like how does someone even do that so effortlessly?! The strength, balance and control were unreal.
And the two hosts… honestly one of the best comedy duos I’ve seen in a very long time. Every single time they came on stage they had the entire room laughing. Their timing was perfect, they bounced off each other so naturally and they brought such a fun energy to the whole night. Someone seriously needs to give them their own podcast/show or something because they were magnificent.
One of my favourite moments of the entire night was when my friend Stuart got pulled up on stage with Emma for one of the audience participation moments. I was absolutely howling with laughter watching it happen, but also feeling so much joy for him at the same time because it became one of those memories you just know someone will never forget. Being able to capture that moment for him made the night feel even more special.
The pillow fight scene was another huge highlight for me because it perfectly summed up the energy of the entire show, playful, seductive, chaotic and just ridiculously entertaining to watch.
What I loved most though was how the whole night felt immersive. It never felt like you were just sitting there watching a performance. It felt like the audience was part of the atmosphere and part of the madness in the best possible way.
I left the show on such a high and I’m genuinely still buzzing from it now. I’ve already started asking people who wants to come back with me because I already know I need to experience it all over again. Absolutely incredible night and honestly one of the most fun, visually stunning and entertaining shows I’ve been to in a long time.
