One Night With Marilyn

Isabella Bliss takes us back to the 1950’s with her amazing cabaret 'One Night with Marilyn' proving that Marilyn Monroe is just as iconic now as she was back then and The Crazy Coqs provides the perfect stage for this.

Isabella looks incredible in Marilyn’s Iconic white dress and she proves that she is not just a pretty face as she opens the show with ‘Some Like it Hot’. I have to say she captures Marilyn very well, her mannerisms and her voice are spot on. Isabella’s quick wit and charm win over the audience from the very beginning which is important as the show is interactive and the audience are very much apart of the show.

She goes on to sing ‘I Wanna Be Loved By You’ ‘My Heart Belongs to Daddy’ and ‘I’m Through With Love’. When she sings, her silky sweet tones are just effortless, it’s lovely to sit back and listen as she takes you on this musical journey with her.

She has a great onstage relationship with MD Mac Shone who accompanies her beautifully with the support of the rest of band Will Hill (Drums) Paul Scott (Bass) and Paula Borell (Saxophone).

As the show goes on, the audience learn a lot about Marilyn’s life and her past relationships as she teases the room. I love the audience participation, as she pulls up willing volunteers and shows she is quick to think on her feet and very funny. The audience were belly laughing at the silly antics.

The show is jam packed with music, little nuggets of information and fun, and I must say the balance is perfect. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, Marilyn pulls up a special guest which just so happens to be ‘Frank Sinatra’. David Alacy blows the audience away with his medley of hits as Sinatra. He has captured the essence of him perfectly. Marilyn returns to the stage in a glitzy sparkly red number for a sizzling duet ‘Can’t Take That Away From Me’ as they both flirt and raise the stakes of the evening.

As the show draws to a close, Isabella has definitely saved the best till last as she pulls out one of Marilyn’s biggest hits ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ which the audience goes wild for.

If you want a nostalgic evening with the ultimate Hollywood sex symbol then this is the cabaret for you. Isabella has done the ground work to pull off this icon to perfection. 'One Night with Marilyn' is great value for money and I can honestly say this is the closest you will ever get to Marilyn, you will not be disappointed!
