Halloween Lakeside Light Trail

“Pumpkin spice and everything nice.”

We were invited to preview the Halloween Lakeside Light Trail at Partridge Lakes in Warrington.

Before we get into the ooky spooky, every member of staff we encountered was accommodating and friendly. From the parking attendant lighting our pram's path with his torch to the drinks vendor wishing us "night, night", it brought a personable touch to the experience.

The set up takes you through a light trail around a lake with lots to draw your eyes and ears to with multiple food and drink vendors at the beginning and end of the trail to warm you up.

Although recommended for those of any age, it is definitely catered to the under 10s and families alike, although the website references a more intense attraction coming soon titled, "The Haunting: Halloween Lakeside Nightmare".

The background music around the walk was charming and atmospheric with lots of lights, shadows and projections to keep the little ones busy. I would have loved for there to be some interactive moments to prolong the adventure a little longer as well as some haze to vamp up the atmosphere.

I would highly recommend wearing footwear with a good grip as parts of the path were slippy due to the rain and mud with nothing to grab along the way, should you be less steady on your feet (especially after a delicious Baileys Hot Chocolate.) It was relatively easy to push a pram around, however I'm unable to comment the same for wheelchair users.

There is multiple car parks for the event with stewards directing you to/from the event, whilst also holding spots for those with accessibility issues.

In terms of cost, it was a lot more budget friendly than other walks I've been on in the past, this was also reflected in the prices of the food and drink on offer - the Vietnamese stall was a standout!

Overall, I would say that as an adult, I'd struggle to remember this next year, but it is sure to stick in the minds of the younger ghosthunter and provides plenty of opportunity for families to capture fun memories for years to come.

This experience was reviewed on the 30th September 2023.  The Halloween Lakeside Light Trail runs until the 31st October 2023.  Tickets available here: Home | Halloween Lake Side Light Trail
